What ‘Standard’ Means
Standard Real Estate Investments is named in honor of Robert Jue’s grandfather who, in 1982, started a community bank called Standard Bank in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. Standard Bank made loans to Chinese immigrants settling in the San Gabriel Valley who otherwise had difficulty accessing mainstream bank financing due to language and cultural barriers. Standard Bank’s impact has been noted in numerous economic studies as a catalyst for economic equity among the region’s Chinese Americans.

Standard Real Estate Investments honors Standard Bank’s legacy by unlocking capital access for minority- and women-owned (MWBE) developers. Through its understanding of barriers to capital for MWBE developers and its established access points to differentiated developers nationwide, Standard focuses on capital deployment to its MWBE partners, supporting a multiplier effect across the developer ecosystem.
