What ‘Standard’ means.
Standard Real Estate Investments is named in honor of Robert Jue’s grandfather who, in 1982, started a community bank called Standard Bank in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. Standard Bank made loans to Chinese immigrants settling in the San Gabriel Valley who otherwise had difficulty accessing mainstream bank financing due to language and cultural barriers. Standard Bank was a commercial success and its impact has been noted in numerous economic studies as a catalyst for economic equity among Chinese Americans in the region.
Standard Real Estate Investments builds on Standard Bank’s legacy as a NMSDC-certified minority-owned and operated real estate investment manager that has the cultural competency to make great investments with minority and women practitioners and/or in majority-minority communities that mainstream investment managers may miss.
